Location: Kansas | A friend may purchase a horse at the Billings MT sale, and may need to have it shipped to Missouri. What is a ballpark figure on what it would cost? Thanks!

| Im shipping one today actually! Mine is going from northeast TX to south FL- LONG WAY! It is costing me $1500 but I also got a box stall so she could lay down if she wants to. Its also air ride. Its a company out of Pilot Point Tx, came highly recommended. They got me a quote within an hour. They have been on the ball about pick up time and delivery and gave the name and number of the drivers and told me to call anytime to check on where they are and how my horse was doing. Its called Equine Express- probably worth your time to at least get a quote. Hope that helps :) |

| $.50 - $1.50 per mile. You get what you pay for with shippers. I just shipped one from LA to ID for $900 and she wasn't taken very good care of at all. A few years back I shipped from LA to UT and the shipper stoped at layover points at night, brushed her out (including her tail and mane) before delivery this one cost me $1200 I think. Lots of good shippers out there and there are also lots of terrible one, so be careful.

Location: The end of the Earth, SE AR | Call Randy at MT Equine Express, he is amazing. Both times I bought an unbroke yearling that barely would lead and I had a healthy happy, sane well-mannered horse that would lead nicely and stand tied when they got here. He didn't even charge extra for training. He understands horses and understands shipping horses. He takes care of his transports as if they were his own children and you can call him anytime along the way. He's very reasonably priced too. |

I am glad that I am not the only one! I especially have a hard time reading out loud as I tend to speed read and my mouth can't keep up with my brain. And speed reading can lead to such mistakes.....  |

I used them too for a pregnant mare shipped from NW Nebraska to central Alabama. I also got her a box stall. Cost around $1,600, which is pretty pricey but that rig was pretty awesome!! And I had trouble getting the mare to load in my bp so the driver stayed and helped us out. Which was really nice of him. |

Location: Northwest Florida | I haven't shipped one in about a year so I don't know about the current going rate with diesel costs as low as they are right now.
But- I LOVE the group on Facebook "Hitch Your Horse a Ride". You can post for quotes between two zip codes and get plenty of responses, then check out those hauler's pages to make sure they are reputable. It's also a good place to go to search for reviews on who to use and who to run away from.
PS- MG Horse Transport, LLC is my personal favorite. He was my farrier before he became a hauler. Very good guy. Good luck!

I use hitch your horse a ride and the last one the seller already had another horse headed up to ND and arranged transport. I Facebook searched reviews on the transporter. There is also a FB site called Horse Transport Reviews. |

The cost of horse shipping depend upon shipping companies and distance. The quality of service is also a major factor. There are various pet shipping companies for horse inside US, I haven't shiped horse yet but i heard of Citizenshipper pet transportation company which also ship horses. My friend tell me My friend tell me driver was very courteous he kept him informed with calls text and pictures of his horse along the way. So, new member can check them. And also my one tip is Always visit vet before shipping  |

Location: 31 lengths farms | Ask detailed questions too...I had asked what type of trailer they were picking mine up in, more to make sure it would fit in the driveway of the place. I was told stock type with box stalls and was sent a picture of said trailer. I forgot to ask how many horses to a stall.... Yep, got a panicked text from the woman I bought him from that he had gone in the trailer with no marks on him aNd she sent me photos and that he was tied in the box stall with another horse. In the end it turned out okay, other than them making the trip 5 days later than planned and my horse being hauled to an extra state as well as zig zagging his way up CA . OK to Nor CAL was @$1400. |
