So, generally in the summer I feed close to 6lbs (the recommended for a hard working horse) of Triple Crown Complete. My horse has always looked great! I am wanting to bump down the amount though because I know it is high in sugar. He is currently on 30 acres and has free choice minerals and salt at all times. He WILL NOT have access to hay 24/7 this summer since he is on so much land but he will be getting fed twice a day and a mix of alfalfa/grass hay when kept in on the hot/bug heavy days. My question is, how many lbs of alfalfa pellets would you recommend adding daily? Or, is it safe to add to a complete feed? I should also add that he is fed a daily dose of Exceed 6-Way. We will be hauling a lot this year and I just want the best for my boy!

hoofs_in_motion - 2016-02-23 1:32 PM I typically feed a scoop of alfalfa pellets per feeding (which is either 3lbs or 3.5lbs can't remember) on top of the 12% feed I just started mine on.
Are you also giving a scoop of 12% along with the scoop of alfalfa pellets twice a day?
