We just bought this gelding.  I know his topline needs work and he's not legged up yet. But i wanted to make sure i was feeding for the best possible results.  He is an 15.0h 11 yo AQHA gelding and he has has most of the winter off.  we are currently legging him back up.
He was on 12% and round bales. I have switched him to Tribute (same am and pm) plus nice 2nd cutting hay.
My feed routine:

1 Cup Kalm “n” EZ
½ Cup K Finish
1 Cup Essential GC

The Tribute should help a lot. You may also want to check into THE Muscle Mass. Wyoming barrel racer is a dealer on here. She can help you.

I also feed Tribute and THE to my mare who had a poor topline when I got her.

My gelding had a poor topline, and needed weight, I was feeding alfalfa pellets along with gleam & gain 60 on top.

Exercises and hill work helps as well.

My horse was in a similar situation.  Moved him to AZ in the middle of the winter and he wasn't in the greatest body condition.  Not poor by any means but not where I like them to be.  I fed him alfalfa and 1/2 Lb Renew Gold.  It really filled him out.  If I were you, I'd do 1 lb of RG.  I've recently upped him to 1 lb and continue to be pleased with the results I'm getting.

Adeptus Nutrition Gleam and Gain Supreme 60 or the Original 41 will really help a horse's topline without making them hot.

My OTTB had a poor top line when he arrived and was quite thin as well. He's been getting 2-3# rice bran meal, a few cups of soaked beet pull, cool calories and THE muscle mass. He's fattened up quite a bit and starting to fill in over his top line. I'd highly recommend THE products.

I would get him dewormed teeth floated and just put him on a good feed with good quality grass hay and go from there befor I started to add different supplments, but if you feel the need to add a supplement talk to Krystal that sells THE equine Edge.

Good hay in front of them at all times...a small amount of whole oats...ground flaxseed...and Forco, puts on bloom and a great topline. I also add 2 lbs of soaked alfalfa pellets once a day.

I would give him a chance to fill out on what you are feeding him now before you throw a bunch of supplements at him. A solid balanced diet with good quality hay 24/7 should fill him right back out.

Mine did, too. I wasn't riding at the time so I know it was the Cur Ost.

This is a mare I bought for my son, she is old and has crappy conformation so don't pick on her about that, lol.  She was minutes away from being hauled to the sale barn and looked like crap but rode really hot.  She gets 10# of Omnis cubes, CurOst Total Support (to help an old foundered foot) and grass hay.  Sorry the pics are all sideways, not sure why they did that.

I've seen great results from high % alfalfa hay, whole oats, flax and forco. Plus 24/7 grass hay.

I started adding Mega Oil by Oxy-Gen to my boy's feed when I became a dealer and wanted to see if it made a difference and love the results.  Wish I had taken a before picture.

Foundation Detox by Animal Element works wonders for the topline!!!! It is a great overall supplement for joints, hooves, coat, but will really fill out a topline.

I feed Tribute Kalm n Ez and to add weight your not feeding enough. I really don't see the benefit of adding in the k finish and essential gc. Stick to one formulation and feed about 4lbs lbs per feeding (if feeding the Kalm N Ez). You can back off once he fills in. Adding in alfalfa will also help a lot. Kalm Ultra is a great formula if you want something higher in fat. My colt is really starting to fill out on the 8 lbs a day with alfalfa and grass hay. He gets nothing else. My easy keepers only get about 2lbs a day.

I have an 18 yo OTTB and after trying EVERY senior feed with no luck for his topline I switched to Renew Gold and Alfalfa and have seen a difference. He gets 1.5lbs a day (he's a hard keeper), a flake of alfalfa, and free choice grass. Because you don't feed a lot of Renew Gold be sure to weigh it. Trust me, a pound is a lot less than it looks. And your pocket book will thank you.

Definitely weigh your feed. I think a 3 qt scoop of Tribute weighs 3.5-3.8 pounds and if I remember correctly they recommend 10-12 pounds of Tribute for a 1,000 pound horse. If you're feeding a cup, my guess is you're feeding about half of that. I have found anytime you feed a prefix feed, you have to feed the max amount to harder keepers unless you're feeding the best hay money can buy.

Alfalfa and rice bran are what I use to get condition, but every horse is different. My OTTB is on straight grains (2 gallons twice a day), rice bran, super sport, filler grass hay (all he'll eat) and good alfalfa hay.  Top pic was about a month ago, bottom when he first came -- he went from 1310 pounds to the weight tape not even touching. He's picked up even more than this pic.  I tried him on Tribute and he wouldn't stay on it but the grains his appetite has done marvelous.
