I'm wanting to join the helmet band wagon (especially since the horse I'm riding now is on the unsafe side) and I really like the looks of low profile matte helmets. Thing is I can't try them on at a store (closest place might be 3 hours away and I can't justify driving that far just for a helmet) so I'll be buying online. I think the sizing dial system is pretty cool but the ones I've been looking at so far don't have it.
What you all have and what do you like?
I have a Troxel Intrepid and a Tipperary Sportage and I like them both. As far as fitting flexibility I would pick the Troxel, it has a neat system that gives you a lot of room to adjust the sizing.
I like my troxel intrepid. Be prepared that if its at all uncomfortable when you first put in on it probably won't break in and get better. You may have to search a bit to find the perfect fit. I've had several brands and didn't realize how uncomfortable they were until I tried the intrepid, now I forget I have it on!
A caution on the dial fit, although I don't think the one you got has one, I had it on an IRH and it broke pretty fast. I like it because at the time I was showing hunters and I could adjust it if my hair was up or down, once it broke it was forever stuck in that spot. I ended up replacing it when I tried to force it larger to put my hair up and broke the whole dial fit part...
The ovations will be very comfortable and have the dial click fit system. Tipperary Sportage helmets are not as adjustable. The troxels fit a round head the best and are more uncomfortable due to the hard plastic with very thin padding.

Glad you said this - I ordered the Troxel Intrepid a few days ago and it will arrive today.
