Location: Buffalo, Wyoming | Can anyone give me any insight to the bottom side of this pedigree? Everything I know is way back. Looking at her as a broodmare, I really like the top side. Friends of ours own here and are needing to get rid of her. Would like to possibly cross her on something with more running/barrel bloodlines.

| Mr Bar None.....the only world champion sired by Three Bars...He won the Autumn Championship which was the equvilant to todays Champion of Champions race against Go Man Go, Vanetta Dee, Double Bid, Clabber Bar, Dividend, Vandy’s Flash and Clabber’s Win. He sired champion runners also, Bar None Doll, Mr. Juniper Bar, and Bayou Bar. And was known more as a broodmare sire, however in horses like Bar None Doll, Mr. Juniper Bar, and Bayou Bar.
He is also the paternal grandsire of Sonny Dee Bar, and NFR roping horses the Bar None Quest and Mr. Bar None Cactus. |

What do you mean by "world Champion"? What is different in what Mr Bar None won & Goldseeker Bars won? Thanks for the info! |

| I am not sure why AQHA Hall of Fame says he was the only Champ of Three Bars...
The info came from the AQHA site...
I do know that Zippo Pat Bars was a Hall of Fame horse not a champion. He was a producer of Champs
Sugar Bars also was no a Champ. he sired Champ and is in the Hall of Fame. He only earned his ROM in race and 2pts in show.
I am not sure about Lightening Bars or Goldseeker Bars. |

Location: Buffalo, Wyoming | Thanks for all the info! Based on pedigree alone, what kind of studs would she cross well with? |

| My little grey mare goes back to Mr bar None on top. Probably where her speed comes from! She's also stubborn as they come but I think that's the cow horse breeding lol.
My retired mare was double bred breeze bar on her dams side. She had a whole bunch of three bars blood and looked a lot like him. Huge stride, lots of try and a great mind. Crossed her on a mostly cow stud and got a long legged tank with a great mind! |

You have to look at her entire pedigree since everything on it steps back 50 or more years
within 3 generations.
One super stud is not going to cover the slower older bloodlines encapsulated in the genes
of this mare. To see a competitive foal you may have to breed the daughters of this mare
for 3-4 generations to upgrade a baby to be competitive with the competition out there
today. You are talking 12- 15 years of focused breeding.
Speed and size are the easiest things to breed out of a horse ...
Since 3bars is discounted out of the foundation breeder associations ... you might consider
going with a foundation stallion and running in the foundation association events so
that you will be running like to like and competitive with these older line bred horses ..
Breeding is not like building a hotrod and taking it racing this weekend ... it takes years or
focused dedicated breeding to set the speed, conformations and desired characteristics
you want to develop for certain events ..
Here is a decent example of setting the characteristics, barrel horse conformation, disposition,
agility, turning and fast gathering to speed all wrapped up from successful families without depending on just one source (stud horse) for everything a barrel horse needs to have ... have fun understanding for each special bloodline you want to add ... you step back a generation and at the same time you have to maintain the speed needed to be competitive ...

Location: Slipping down the slope of old age. Boo hoo. | I remember the day when there were lots of Mr. Bar None get in the show pen. They were smart, easy and very athletic -- excelled at just about everything they were pointed to. Very nice movers. Balanced.

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | Breeze Bar is the same generation as Mr Bar None. That would get me more excited, I always liked seeing him in a pedigree. He was the '61 Champion running stallion. Mr Bruce is another by Three Bars that was a good one. Lots of Three Bars best are on the dam's side. It is honestly all back there a bit too far to make much difference, but it is a good foundation. |
