| I just got a mare, who has grown attatched to another mare of mine that wants absolutely nothing to do with her. When ever I take the second mare away the other ones goes absolutely nuts. Like runs in her stall. But if I take her away from the second mare shes just fine. How do people deal with these types of horses and is there like any thing to fix it? |

| IF she is not in danger to herself (kicking stalls, colic from extreme stress) I would continually place them together (at home in stalls, or tie at the trailer) and then take the other away, she will wear herself down and learn with time that it is ok to be by yourself. It may take a few hours for her to completely relax, she will work up a sweat but do not let her next to her buddy until she has gotten over her fit. |

| Tie the buddy outside somewhere where you can ride. Ride the sour horse. Make the sour horse lope circles, do drills ect. when near the buddy. Let them relax and not work as hard when away from the buddy. They will soon associate the buddy with work.. |

This! We did this with my daughters horse... he was awful! He's gotten a lot better about it, every once in a great while, he will pull his funny business but gets quickly reminded how much work it is to hang out with his buddies... |

Location: The Great Northwest | It takes a big dose of Patience! This is the nature of the horse and some are more sensitive to where is my friend. So, know it is a on going process and should get better but always be there for some. |
