My s.o. just learned that his grandpa is going to pass soon.
He has been in and out of the hospital for a while. He is very upset so I haven't heard all the details. I know he had some blood clotting in his legs and was in the hospital again with pneumonia. All I heard is they are going to have to let him pass this time. He is one to kind of shut down when this type of thing happens. He found his grandma dead when he was younger and it scarred him pretty badly. I want to help and be there. BUT I have not gone through this before, plus I am not even sure what to say to him to help. Any one have suggestions on how to be there the best I can? I mean besides just being here for him. Thank you.

I don't think there is really anything you can do other than just be there for him. Make sure he knows you are there for him if he needs anything. Whether that is space or a shoulder to cry on. Hugs sent your way.

I lost my grandpa in January. There's really nothing you can say or do. Just be there for him and show him you care.
