Location: GODS country | Omeprazole Paste from HorsePreRace - how much do you give to treat ulcers?
Also, has anyone used MVP Gastro-Plex to keep ulcers away? Horse will ONLY eat pellets, NO powder supplements. |

Location: WI | To treat, you need to give 2.4g per day.
I use Gastroplex and have had great results with it. I still give omeprazole when I haul. I get mine from myprecisionpharmacy.com |

I call in to order, first they make sure you have a prescription, then they will give you a price. I'm not sure how prehorserace gets away with selling this stuff without a prescription??? |

Location: South Central Florida | went to a class/lecture given by the makers of Gastroguard. They grudgingly admitted that great results were seen using 1/2 to 1/4 of a tube per day. We treated a mare with 2 grade 2 ulcers and a 3rd "white spot". I did not have $1000 plus to do a month and a hald of gastroguard. I purchased 5, got another 5 from several give away programs, then bought the rest from Horseprerace. We did half a tube (rotating brand name and generic) for 28 days, then 2 weeks at 1/4 tube a day, then 1 week of 1/4 tube every other day. Now she gets 1/4 tube everytime she steps on the trailer, and 1/4 to 1/2 a tube a day while we are hauling. |
