The aluminums on my double j seem to be letting my foot slide all the way in.
I have not had this problem with any other stirrups before so I am hoping I can change these bad boys out and be okay.
I lost a lot of stirrups in my Double J as well. I think the main reason was because I couldn't get the fender turned because of the biothane stirrup "leathers". HATE that about the Double J saddles. I ride in the original Crooked Stirrup now as of a month ago and am really enjoying them.

I like plastic emergency release stirrups. They're hard to find in America anymore. We had to get a pair from Australia recently. My daughter got dragged a few years ago. We have big feet in this family. A couple of years after I made her start riding in the emergency releases, she fell and her foot got caught for a second but the stirrup released. I actually have a picture of it--her hanging upside down and you could even see the rubber band flying in mid-air! Talk about action shot. Good photographer. But anyway, I don't think these will help to keep your foot from actually sliding in, but they are my favorite stirrup.
