A little off topic but what kind of body wash do you use? for yourself. I have extremely dry itchy skin year round it seems like and I have tried everything and it will not go away. I have the in shower body lotion and really like it, but I think if I started with a better body wash then maybe it would help. Any suggestions?

I use the original dove pink or white bar. On my face too. I also use the jergens in shower lotion after. I have really dry skin as well and this seems to help.

I use Olay Ultra Moisturizer for the shower, but for my dry skin, Coconut Oil all the way. It is wonderful for my dry skin, it does wonders.  Gold Bond Shea Butter is amazing too.

I have the driest skin of anyone I know. I have had the best results with vitamins, having a humidifier going especially in the winter. I live in WY where the air is always dry and when the heater runs all winter it makes the house so dry we get nose bleeds. Then I use a moisturing lotion after each shower. Upping your water intake will do more for you than anything though.

I like the Tone brand for body wash.  I hardly ever use lotion.  (Should though.)

I live in ND where it is cold and dry and the best body wash, by far, that I've used is Aveeno. I even switched my facial cleaner from Philosophy's Purity, to one made by Aveeno, and its awesome. It's a little spendy, but totally worth it.

What helped my skin more then body wash is in dove shower lotion. It's helped my skin a ton. I also use body dew from pure romance.

My favorites are Aveeno and Nivea body washes and I've also just used a little bit of baby oil on my skin after I get out of the shower.

L'Occitaine lemon verbena bar soap. Yes, it's a bar but it blows any other body wash out of the water. It's $10 but will last 6 months+ I can even shave with it.

I have extremely dry skin and have used Philosophy for years. The cheapest place to buy it is QVC. Crabtree and Evelyn is also very good. Smells wonderful. Philosophy should be on QVC on Friday.

I'll be a little odd here. I really like using baby Aveno products. I feel like there's not as much chemicals in there that I should be worrying about and it makes my skin really soft. Plus I don't have to use a ton of it.

What laundry soap do you use? You may have become allergic to it. I would switch to Dreft. The same thing happened to my boyfriend and as soon as he switched to Dreft the itching went away.

I use tide right now. I was using Gain and it made me itch everywhere all the time! So I switched a couple years ago.

I use the Dove Purely Pampering body wash, and if I'm really dry, I take a bath with Baby Oil in it.  My tub needs cleaned afterwards, but it sure does the job!

I also use Dove CreamOil lotion.

Baby oil or palmers cocoa butter oil, I put it on after my shower in the shower before I dry off. Use to have a hard time with keeping me moisturized when we didn't have a water softner, now that we do my skin feels a lot better.

My daughter and I both have really dry skin, especially in the winter. On my daughter, I am having very good luck with Johnson's Oatmeal Body Wash. It is the best her skin has ever looked.

For me, I add pure coconut oil to my luffa with my body scrub. It seems to help me immensely.

You may want to think about using a humidifier during the winter. Often that helps with the dry skin issue....

Sometimes less is more with dry skin... less fragrances and "additives", something mild.  I use an unscented Dove moisturizing bar, cocoa butter lotion. Less hot water on your skin and a humidifier!

I've always had dry skin that I had to completely moisturize my body with lotion head to toe at least twice a day and had to do elbows, shoulders, knees, ankles and feet multiple times in between.  For some reason I tried Aveeno once and it changed my life.  I use both the Avenno body wash in the shower and then put Aveeno lotion all over after the shower and I'm good until my next shower, with the exception of my hands.  I carry a small Aveeno in my purse to use after I wash my hands.  I won't spend money on any other brand of lotion or body wash now.
I also sleep with a humidifier whenever it's to cold to sleep witht he windows open

Hands down Aveeno - it is pricey but you dont have to use as much product. The body wash actually suds up without having to use half the bottle and the lotion you dont have to use as much. I dont have super dry skin but I was on a quest for a body soap that actually suds up without having to keep reapplying to a loufa, I bought Aveeno stress relief body wash and lotion and I could 100% tell a difference in the quality! My skin was still very moisturized by my next shower. Highly recommend.

I recently switched to the Avon Moisture Therapy brand and love it. I could tell a difference instantly. I switched because I'm pregnant and trying really hard not get stretch marks. So I moisturize like an addict. I use the Intensive healing and repair but they also have a calming relief w/ oatmeal that might help you. Worth looking at. www.youravon.com/aubreysmith and shipping is free if you spend over $40 bucks. good luck

I don't know if anyone has already posted it, but I use coconut oil in the shower. I make up a sugar+coconut oil scrub, rub it on and rinse it off. Then pat yourself dry (no rubbing) with towel. I have dry, sensitive skin and this has me looking normal!! Lotions and scented soaps make me dry out and rash after a few uses.

I linked Amazon and their website. Sephora and Nordstrom also carry it. Nordstrom has free shipping FYI. Looks like the price went up to $14. It really last a very long time if you use a loofah. They also have a milk and lavender scent, but the lemon verbena is my favorite. It's a very mild lemon scent. When we went to Mexico our hotel had these soaps and products in the rooms and we got hooked on it.
