Expert Posts: 1543 Location: MI	Do any of you with barefoot horses wear bell boots? I always thought of them just for shod horses, but then heard the reasoning of heel injury lately and had to think twice. So I thought I'd ask :) thanks!

Elite Veteran Posts: 1131	Ever since I had a barefoot horse rip the whole back of his leg and heel up, I will never ride without front boots and bell boots. They can and will over reach, even if they never had before. This horse had never hurt himself before, but that one time made him lame for over a month.
