Thinking of ordering a fx3 but no one has them and I can't find a whole lot of information on them. Does anyone know if they make them in a square skirt? Also, how do you gullet sizes run? If you have one please attatch pictures. Do you prefer the normal fenders or the twisted ones?

I don't know what the options are for skirts or fenders, I can tell you the trees are not the same as the other Martin trees, they are different trees completely. The saddle sits you back more, verses say the Crown C tips you forward. I would try to find one to try on your horse before purchasing. I LOVE MINE!!!!!

I love mine as well. I believe the tree fits the horse the same as the crown c tree, but yet they help you sit back more. Mine has really helped my tipping forward habit and I feel very balanced in it.

I would really try to find one to ride in or call Martin about a trial first though, I've had folks ride in mine who hated it one lap around the arena.

hated mine- the cantle was a mile high and made me feel like I wasn't anywhere near my horse.... I like the close contact feel.... not what the fx3 had- but if you like feeling odd space between you and your horse- go for the fx3!  :

I love mine. I feel very close to my horse and it always be to ride. I can get up over them or stay square and balanced. I use a 5 star pad with it. I also loce my Larry Coats and Caldwell.

I like mine! It helped me on my front-endy horse to get back on my butt and I love the wide swells for when he drops like that too. I'm very secure. I have the twisted fenders (well worth the extra money). I can get up and over to hustle easily or sit down in a turn. The tree is the same as the crown c in the fit for the horse but the seat and swells are different. I have a wide one with flat bars for my flat backed horse and it works well - no more rock.

I really like mine as well. I think it fits a horse fairly close to the Crown C but it has a deeper seat and I like the swells a lot better.  Edited to add: mine has the hamley twist-totally worth it, and its a 8.5 gullet
