I am riding a 5 yr old stud that is slightly down hill, I do not think he is going to completely level out, and with the wider shoulders/wither area I am wondering what brand of saddles I should be looking at.
Mine is too narrow, causing it to put pressure on his back where the bars end, I am riding in a Kelly Kamanski Flex2, wide.
Just wondering what fits other studs as they tend to have the bigger shoulders/muscle in the wither area to give me a starting point.

I recently worked with a saddle fitter and had a custom pad made for my downhill mare. There was nothing that was going to work to keep any saddle from putting more pressure on her shoulder area other than getting a pad that had shoulder relief and shims and basically tapered off towards the rear. My mare is very thick as well, and the saddle I've best found to fit is a Double J The Duke wide fit.

Shim pads ( Ortho Equine) .. Diamond Wool has a adjustable shim pad also .. I use a treeless quite well. He is also fine in a butterfly skirted ranch saddle .. but have not found a barrel saddle that works besides treeless..

I'm no help but will be following this thread. I recently bought a slightly down hill mare (like 1") who is also a mutton withered tank. I have no idea where to even start with saddle fitting.
