Hi All!
I have a horse that is coughing really bad... She doesn't do it in the pasture but when I begin riding her around she does it, and it's a whole body affair.
She also has white mucous in her nose, so I'm concerned it's more than dusty hay.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Or have a remedy to try?

My horse was doing this about 2.5 weeks ago. She was coughing, had a snotty nose, her temp was 100.8, not really a full blown fever but the higher end of normal. I took her to the vet, they told me to do 4 days of antibiotics (nexcel, I think?) , and then a shot of exceed on day 5, I gave her 2 weeks off work just to be sure. She's all good now, rode her yesterday with no coughs.

Thanks everyone! I'm taking them to the vet tomorrow. :-( I was supposed to go to a clinic this weekend but believe i'll be staying home to play it safe.
