I just started feeding the black sunflower seeds. It has been 2 weeks and man, my horses look wet, they are so shiny. One is a black and the other is a sorrel. I have two others that are out in the pasture not being rode right now and while they look great, they are not as shiny as these two. I do not stall either. Plus I have read where the black sunflower seeds are helpful to horses with arthritic conditions. I don't know about that, though, because I am feeding Cur Ost also.

I can't find the Sunflower seeds with out Bird coating on them, I've used Flax in the past, had more top line improvement than coat improvement. A few years ago I did try the Formula 1 Noni with my gelding and his coat was amazing, looked like a new Penny but for me it was too expensive considering the only thing I noticed with him was the pretty coat and I do mean it was spactacular, the kind that people came over to the trailer to look at, LOL!!!

I THINK although the black sunflower seed provide an amazing shine, the ratio of Omega 3:6 is misbalanced and you MIGHT have issues in the future? Maybe someone more knowledgeable will chime in.
