I've always been proud of being a Marana resident, and there's no doubt that Sheri has made Marana what it is in barrel racing, but I wanted to post a shout out to all the locals running at the Heritage, the Wentz arena. You girls are clocking dynamite times. There are two teens, Caulina and Kaylee that both ran low 17's on the standard on horses they trained themselves. Back yard horses that I personally witnessed some major attitude. These girls got grit and stuck with it. And so, I'm on the look out for my next poke a long. I have no shame in admitting Im at the age where I just want to be able to say I went and not fly by the seat of my pants. Horse shopping isn't fun for me because Im sure every one is a big fat liar.
So, thank you Marana girls, because you've inspired me to give it a go ..... btw, mid 16's on a standard is pretty darn common in Marana, Az. I'm not sure what's happening every where else, but this little town deserves its kudos.
