What could a popping sound in the hock indicate? Not a click, but a soft almost wet sounding (if that make sense) pop, it almost sounds like a joint that is partially out of socket. I am most certain it is in the hock and not the stifle.

My daughter's new pony is a **** when tied up and rears continuously if you aren't standing right next to her. I left her tied to the trailer for an extended time where I could see her out the window and when I went back out to put her away she had this odd sounding pop in her left hock. Since that day it develops on and off but usually after she has rode her in the soft sand were the pony really has to work. She extends it just fine, doesn't limp but when it is popping like that it does track to the outside.

I do have a vet appointment for her but not until after the first of the month.
