Location: White Mountains of AZ | So I have my 8 yr old gelding, and a 17 yr old mare. Will be pretty active again once I have this baby . What would you all recommend in a way of Joint Care? They don't have any issues, it's more preventative. |

Injectables are the most effective in my opinion. If they have no known issues, full adequan series 2x a year 6 months apart is a good option. However, I decided to try TIGHT JOINTS PLUS as a daily supplement for joints. I heard a lot of great things about it, saw some results for myself in other peoples horses and its very affordable. So I have been using that the last 60 days or so and have really seen a difference in my arthritic gelding. |

| I will suggest Pureform Glucoseamine Plus, and any other products from PUREFORM; I Have heard many great results from this and I have even placed my 19 y/o on this due to a joint injury. If you chose not to use PUREFORM there is always PLATINUM. Try to even ask your veterinarian for anything. :)

Location: **Cactus Country down in South Texas*** | IMO I ended up giving up feeding all the powder stuff etc. Because I just wasn't seeing any results in my horses. And believed I was just feeding them handfuls of money and they just crap it out. I give injectable Glucosamine, and have gone to more of a naturel oil approach. And have seen fantastic results !!!! I feed Lemongrass, Frankincense, Lavender every day. Along with "Digestzen" oil blend that the company makes (doterra), which has worked a lot on horses with ulcers to just nervous stomach.
But as far as joint supplements, I use Lemongrass & Frankincense in their feed, along with an oil blend in a roller bottle I use and rub on their legs. I'm just very impressed with the changes I have made. |

| Polyglycan every other week. And OE flex every other week. 10cc 2 hours before running. I also think feeding a natural clean feed like oats, alfalfa pellets and whole flax helps. |

Did you switch back to whole oats and clean diet for your horses? I thought you were feeding that new feed? |

I was. My one horse got really sick. Too much selenium. Vet advised me to feed oats, alfalfa pellets and flax. I am still adding the Vitalize High Performance and Equine Regen. I'm not a big fan of oats. Have always tried to stay away from them.I looked into omnis cubes, but they are 17% protein. Which I think its way too high. Had always heard oats were bad . He said I could feed a little corn, but I'm hesitant with it being so hot here.

Yep, I agree. I have NEVER had a vet tell me to feed a little corn instead of oats. I have NEVER read anything that said oats were bad for horses unless it was a processed feed manufacture. I don't want to hurt your feelings or make you feel bad, but you need to educate yourself on feeds and feeding practices. You obviously love your horses and want to do the best you can for them. Best thing you can do is educate yourself- read, research and discuss with knowledgeable people. |

I did not add the corn. I'm doing steam rolled oats, 1/4 alfalfa pellets, and 1/2 cup flax morning and night. Equine Regen and Vitalize High Performance. Alfalfa hay and Timothy hay. He did not say corn instead of oats. His original thought was 1/2 oats,1/4 alfalfa pellets, and 1/4 corn. I replace the corn with 1/2 cup of flax.

Sounds like a really well thought out plan. A lot of us are feeding like that and are happy so I hope it works for you. |

Digestzen (5-7) depending on horse
Night and day
Sometimes if they don't like the taste, you can mix some powder sugar with it. |
