| Just as The Lord has the right thing for you to do, a right path in which you are to walk, and a tight growth pattern for your faith, so too, He has a right timing for each step He leads you to take.
A restlessness in spirit often manifests itself as a tendency to run past God's will. You may know what God wants you to do, and in eagerness to get the job done, you forget that God also has a perfect timing for accomplishing His will.
As you receive confirmation that God wants you to take specific action or specific move, ask Him to reveal to you when He wants you to actually move. Numerous times in the Scriptures we find advantage in waiting on The Lord. Waiting means, " in part, saying to The Lord, " Is now the time? I'm waiting until you give me the green light before I go."
These verses from some psalms, notice the great benefits of waiting for God's perfect timing.
Psalm 25:21 Let integrity and uprightness perserve me, For I wait for You.
Psalm 27:14 Wait on The Lord; be of good courage, and He will strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on The Lord!
Psalm 37:34 Wait on The Lord, and keep His way, and He shall exalt you to inherit the land; When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.
Psalm 59:9 I will wait on You, O You His strength; for God is my defense.
If you have a pattern of getting ahead of God's timing, ask yourself " What am I looking for in life? Why do I keep running right past God's will in trying to get it? What am I in a hurry for?"
God has all of time and eternity under His control. He won't direct you to do a job you don't have time to do.
Are you in a hurry to get more power, money, fame, to establish your reputation and your own kingdom on earth? God's kingdom is the only one that really counts. He isn't interested in helping you build your personal kingdom.
Psalm 62:1-2 Truly my soul silently waits for God; from Him comes salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.
Learning to wait on God's timing is one of the hallmarks of the mature Chrisitian life.
Simply ask, Lord, what is it that You want me to do?
That leaves the door open for God to tell us whatever He desires. He isn't limited to the choices that we put before Him.
You will have peace. This type of peace doesn't depend on our outer circumstances.
How did Paul find this inner contentment, peace. By focusing on the sovereignty of God rather than on the will of people.
By putting trust in God to deal with the future rather than continually looking at the past.
By trusting God to make all things right rather than distrusting human ability.
Paul concluded his statement about inner contentment by saying " I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philipplians 4:13. As Paul turned his attention to Christ and away from his circumstances and detractors, he received strength.
His contentment didnt rest in just denying the outside world or the facts related to his situation. His comtentment flowed from his trust in Christ.
We must claim the words of Jesus as our own: "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world give I do give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27
That peace that Jesus gives is the " peace of God, which surpasses all understanding" a peace that " will guard your hearts and minds Phiippians 4:7
Are you frustrated and restless today? Above all else, say to The Lord, I need for You to settle me and give me Your peace."
Then look for Him to fill your heart with His presence.
For it is WITH God all things are possible
Father God, guide me today to do all things that bring glory and honor to You. Lord, settle me and give me Your peace. Amen
Have a VERY BLESSED presence of God Thursday.
I so needed this scripture and message today, my heart has been heavy with the loss of Llave , my dad dementia is getting worse, like a roller coaster, mom wearing down. , Breaks my heart. I put my life on hold , at times seems like, being a caretaker is like that, moment to moment. Hard to plan ahead. I have many sleepless nights, my mind won't shut down, thinking of things that didnt get done and things I can get done. This message gave me hope , not to be so wrapped up in this worlds timing, but waiting on God's timing. Heck I'm 62 yrs old, I want to do has much as I can do while I still can. Partly running barrels. I'm trying to cut down on horse so I won't get so overwhelmed not getting to exercise everyday, and work so hard on weekends I do get to go. I contacted one of my sisters to take care of mom and dad May 12-15 I'm going to Waco . I pray the tension of being out of town will subside. God give me peace Amen
All of us are getting together for Mother's Day, May 7th having fish fry. Family and friends Gods perfect timing AMEN
