Location: California | Anyone had any experience? I tried calling airlines but can't get an actual person to ask. Google says both yes and no.
Thanks! |

Location: Up and over to the right | It might be fine but is it worth risking a nice set of spurs to TSA? I say leave them at home, stick them in your check-in luggage or bring a cheap pair that you don't mind getting taken if needed. |

I am trying to avoid checking a bag - short trip. I may decide to grab a cheap pair instead of the ones I normally use. |

Location: California | Good news - they didn't care! Didn't even bat an eye actually, which I found interesting. But works for me! |

Well, that's interesting. They search my purse for a concert at the casino.
Rough stock riders, PBR, etc. fly all the time. Hauling spurs with them is a necessity. Wonder if they ever run into problems? |

| I didn't get caught with a pocket knife in my carry on either! You may be fine, but I guess it'd be safe to ask |

I had a customer tell me she was escorted from Phoenix Sky Harbor after her purse went through TSA. She said she offered to let them keep the purse so she could make the flight & they told her to take the purse & leave the airport, then 2 guards escorted her outside. Nothing at all dangerous inside the purse, but it looked like this:

What is WRONG with this picture? Wow - I would have had a FIT, (and then lost my ticket money, while the Muslim next to me got to board without showing her face). I'd say American needs to wake up but I really think it's too late. |

 Own It and Move On
Location: The edge of no where | I've flown with them before with no trouble. If you want to run thru security quickly - skip any bling and skip the ball cap or be ready to take it off. |

I have been through TSA 10 times now with a wine bottle opener in both my purse and my makeup bag..... never know when you need one. :)
they have yet to stop me.. you can do some damage with one of those if you wanted to. |

now THAT'S profiling if I've ever seen it. Check for a weapon...but jeez. If anything I would be glad to see other "patriots" with handbags like this on the plane. Then at least you know you might have some other ladies willing to throw down with you against any that would do you harm. |

I actually have the exact same bag in a different color. It's a conceal carry bag, with lots of hiding places, I'm not surprised they wouldn't let it on, but to refuse to allow her on there at all.... yeah, not sure about that. |

Location: Arizona | I have seen concealed carry bags like that, but this particular one was just a regular purse. She bought it in the store I was working at at the time, which was how the conversation started. She said the bag got flagged in the x-ray machine because of the crossed pistols on the front. They thought they were real guns inside the bag. The TSA agents took the bag out to be inspected and it was obvious they were just decorations riveted to the bag, not actual weapons, but security still made her leave the airport. Their reaction seemed pretty ridiculous to me. I could see them taking a closer look, but once you've identified that there is no actual threat why would you not let the person continue on their way? |

Yeah, seems like just a TEENY-TINY bit of common sense here could have gone a long ways! Next they won't let a guy on the plane with a picture of a gun on his shirt! |

| I got to Cancun only to find a FULL .22 CLIP in the bottom of my carry on bag! Had to ditch the bullets one or two at a time in trash cans during my week down there. But they caught my Devon Cream I was taking to Kansas? |
