I have a gelding that only one of his back legs swells up pretty bad when stalled. What would be the best thing to wrap with at a 3 day show?

MagnaCu, either quick wraps or the tendon wraps. Both are fabulous.

I just use back on track quick wraps, but they're a little pricy compared to a good standing wrap. But Im not good at those. :(

Wraps are so hot I prefer not to use them, but for horses that stock up I always spray them pretty good with Bigeoil. That stuff keeps them from stocking up great. And then make sure you get him out to walk around regularly and plenty before you run.

Wet legs, clay, and no wraps. Or Wet legs, clay, wet paper bags, and standing bandages. I love my BOT quick wraps but for my mare I haven't fouund that they get the legs as tight as the poultice/bag/standing bandage. Otherwise they are awesome and not as painstaking as the standing wraps.

MagnaCu all the way. They take out the swelling and keep the legs cool. BOT are ceramic and retain heat. If you aren't wanting a therapy type product, I've never tried them but Hidez makes compression socks. But I'd strongly encourage you to look into MagnaCu. Especially after how well they worked on rachnelly's ionophore poisoned horse with all his swelling problems. Those results don't lie.

I use to use the PHT bell boots and the PHT Quick Wraps and the combo worked great.

Get him out of the stall and hand walk or take a short ride on him several times during the day.  Cold hosing legs after walking helps, or clay poultice.  I've found exercise - just getting out of the stall and lunging a few circles at a walk/trot a few times a day keeps swelling at a minimum or not at all.

This. I swear by Sore No More clay poultice. I also HIGHLY recommend dosing him with Silver Lining Kidney Support. My horse used to stock up REALLY bad. Like ZERO leg definition, just tree stumps for legs. When he had to be stalled for a week straight at the college finals I was pretty worried. I poulticed him everyday with SNM and his back legs stayed tight (& with minimal exercise). Swear by that stuff. After I dosed him with a full bag of Kidney Support his stocking up seemed to go away. He now lives in a stall and we're fine now!

^^ Agreed!
I used to do the poultice route with standing wraps but I see better results and the process is faster with Magnacu quick wraps. The legs stay cool, tight and ready to go! Love it!

I would say the MagnaCu as well!  Or, the Rambo Ionic standing boots which aren't hot like the BOT.

THIS - 100%. I think getting them out and walking helps a lot. I wouldn't wrap. Cold water hose helps a lot too.

Really any type of wrap, even a Polo wrap. It is the compression that keeps the fluid from building up. I like those equiflex sleeves but heard they were difficult to put on? But then again I also heard they changed their design?
Biggest thing is don't put big thick wraps on to hold heat in when it's how out. It's no different than a person wearing Jeans in 85 degree weather

I have and have used the Equisleeves but they are such a pain to put on and take off I never use them.

Agreed 100% on the heat as well

I have had success with BOT and also with applying Runners Relief straight to the leg and not wrapping anything over it.

I've had amazing results for my gelding at three day shows with BOT quick wraps! They're easy to put on and take off.

BOT creates more of a warming sensation, where as PHT/ MagnaCu or clay poultice wrapped with the wet paper (to keep wet and cool for as long as possible) is more of a cooling which will in turn help to reduce the swelling more effectively that an a heat producing wrap/ or liniment.

My horses tend to stock up as well when they are stalled, because they are not used to being stalled.

I have their Back-On-Track quick wraps on them when in the stall, and then I hand-walk them every 2 to 3 hours for about 15 minutes. Seems to keep it under control.
