My old mare got hurt about a month ago. I put her in a stall at my sister's house and she'll have been there three weeks tomorrow. They've fed in the mornings for me and a couple other times. I've done all the stall cleaning and bought feed.
What would be a fair amount to pay them for their trouble?

Well since this is your sister I would say nothing, lol, but if you have to pay I would say at least 75.00 to 150.00 for their trouble of helping you out.

Depending on the sister... I would offer cash, $100 - $150 probably, but if nothing else, I would take them out to a very nice dinner to thank them.
There are a lot of sisters out there who would throw a fit if you tried to pay them and try not to accept it. At least it's a lot harder to turn down a nice meal!

I don't know what kind of relationship you have with your sister, but if it were me I'd buy mine a gift card or something as more of a "thank you" for taking care of my horse, than paying her for her services.
