Lord, would You please open our eyes to all You want to show us and tell us today in Yôur Word?
A call for obedience. Psalm 119:17-32
Jesus often prayed for His follower's eyes to be opened. Clearly, He was not referring to physical eyes. He was asking the Father to give His followers spiritual eyes. If Jesus felt the need to pray that for us, don't you think we should ask the Father the same thing?
In verse 18, Open my eyes, that I may see wounderous things from Yôur law. David asked God to open his eyes that he might see the wonders in the Word of God. e also prayed, " Do not hide Your commandments from me. V 19, teach me Yôur statues, v 26 " revive me according to Yôur Word" v25. Make me understand the way of Yôur precepts v 26 , and grant me Yôur law graciously v 29
David clearly understood that his relationship with God was directly connected to the Word, and his relationship to the Word was clearly dependent upon his relationship with God. He made request after request of the Father to help understand , obey, and follow the Word.
In this year of looking at the Wisdom Literature in the Bible, perhaps the wisest thing we can learn to practice is asking God for His wisdom related to His very Word.
Lord, would You please open our eyes to all You want to show us and tell us today in You Word?
Father guide me today to do all things that bring glory and honor to You Amen
For it is WITH God all things are possible
