Anyone have the Fallon Taylor yet? Is it low profile? I need to order one today... trying to decide between the FT and Rebel. Thanks!

ETA Pictures would be great!

I've tried both on. I prefer the Ovation to anything Troxel. Much more comfortable and adjustable.

I've tried a billion helmets (okay, maybe not a billion, but close enough) and I have found that a lot of them fit very differently and be incredibly uncomfortable or even painful if they don't fit your head right.  I personally would not buy a helmet without trying it on, or trying one on that's the same brand/model/fit/etc. and then ordering it.

I know everyone wants a flashy, stylish Fallon Taylor helmet but my opinion is that having one that fits and is comfortable is wayyyyyyy more important than style. Remember, wearing a helmet is not a fashion statement, it's a safety statement.

The ovation schooler is what I recommend. They have washable liners, and you can also get liners that have the coolmax lining. Here is my daughter in hers

Unfortuantely, I don't have this option. I will return if it doesn't work.
I have at least 5 Troxel helmets. So, I'm not too worried about fit. Just wanting something truly low profile...not a bobble head schooling helmet. Was hoping someone could share personal experience since I am unable to see/feel/try on in person.

Here is my son's Troxel ovation. It also has the crank thing in the back to tighten if needed .

Well, I went with the Rebel bc I like the matte black better than the shiny FT. I'll update when it gets here.
Thanks for those who tried to help. Ordering online is frustrating sometimes :)

My daughter just got a FT helmet and I have to say that it is lighter and more comfortable than expected. I thought it would have a bulky fee to it but it doesn't.

I have a Troxel Sierra, and two Ovation Protege Metallics. The Ovation fits me better. It is light, low profile, and well ventilated.

Did you get your helmet yet?

Normally a round head works well for Troxel and a Tipperarry Sportage works well for an oval head.

I did! I ordered the Troxel Rebel. I got the medium. Fit is snug, even though I measured generously. It's not as low-profile as I had hoped. I also think it is wide (shape, not fit!) at the temples. It will work fine for me, just thought I'd update in case anyone else is shopping. I'd still like to try the FT just to compare. trying to post pic from my phone...

eta: I tried on a Tipperary this weekend and did not like the fit. The way the back came down made me feel like my head was in a trap. Lol.

I saw that they are adding a $1000 added side pot for anyone wearing a helmet during their finals. So awsome!! Hopefully more races start doing this.

Not good that you can't get ahold of them, but I will say that the Fallon Taylor helmets have been so popular that they have had trouble keeping them in stock and the turquoise aztec and paint splatter helmets out of my order were on backorder for almost two months.  Finally have them all back in stock but I did have a couple customers cancel as well.

I was incorrect, I got my first Fallon helmet from Valley Vet Supply. I also wanted to let you know that after posting something about Cosmic Cowboy...& not being able to get ahold of them...I had left another message & I got a call and apology from them today saying the order was messed up and they are sending me my cool turquoise, zebra with glitter helmet next day. Yay!
I guess they are slammed & about 1 month out on all orders. They do custom design helmets! He said with all of the accidents and what not lately...everyone wants a helmet! That's a good thing!!!
I have to say that after having a 3rd concussion and horse accident...I started wearing one! I told myself...Its not worth the risk...especially when I rode allot by myself! It may not be the coolest thing...but at 41, having a young daughter to take care & not wanting to take a risk of falling or getting hurt...I will be rocking the helmet now!

I ride with a helmet and have been for years BUT PLEASE, if you choose (wisely I may add) to ride with a helmet, please make sure it is PROPERLY FITTED AND FASTENED !!!! I see so many riders wearing helmets that are too big for them (mostly children) and straps too loose around the rider's chins. This is as dangerous as not wearing one!!! Wearing a loose helmet can do more harm than good in case of a wreck!

I hope that other helmet makers will get the Fallon Taylor design.  The helmets are not made the same and heads are not the same.

What a great incentive to have a side-pot for helmet wearers like they are having at Pasco, Washington.
