Location: Alberta, Canada | Just wondering what is recommended? I have an email into the company but figured I'd check here as well.
I've been trying ForeRespiratory with little to zero change. She is confirmed IAd and her allergies are going crazy with the smoke from the wildfires up here.
We have tried treating her with traditional medicine and due to her compromised immune system, that just cost me thousands with more issues!
Now, she is strong and healthy and thriving, but her coughing is heartbreaking :( and it's making me go crazy.
Please help! Willing to listen to any and all suggestions at this point!!! |

Location: Where the long tails flow, ND | Yes, i probably sound like a broken record. I tried everything under the sun and my mare was on allergy shots for her allergies. But I stopped cold turkey and moved her to a whole foods diet. Being on Cur-OST Total and Immune has her eating the very things she was allergic to.
She looks like a different horse.
I'll add the before and after pics, and the single pic is 2 weeks ago.

| Cur-Ost Total Support & Immune together for respiratory issues. It's expensive but it works! Protocol is to use them both for 90 days then just the Total Support for maintenance. |

Location: Alberta, Canada | I should add that she is also an ulcer horse and is a hard keeper. If that means anything... |

You should really check out secondvet.com there is a forum and it is fantastic! Also if you call Cur-OST directly they are really great to work with over the phone! |

About 2 weeks, I since have moved everyone in my barn over to different formulas. All doing fantastic and I did so without the loading dose since none really had pre exisiting conditions.

Ok cool! Thank you so much for your input! I've heard from Tom so just waiting to hear back about if he thinks Total or Plus would be best for her when we step back and look at the whole horse :D |

Give BOTH products at the same feeding. Do NOT split them up. I was not told this when I started. The products work together so give them together. |

Location: Alberta, Canada | We are going a bit different route with my mare to start because of her ulcers and anxiety. I am so excited and have more hope than I ever have before! Dr. Schell is AMAZING to talk to and deal with. He is dedicated to getting to the route of the problem. His final words to me were "There is always a solution to help these guys/gals, just takes some tinkering now and again."
Now to wait for it to arrive!!!

I have my two horses on Cur-OST as well. These products and the approuch to their diet benefit the horse more than you realize right now. You will not be disappointed.
My 23 year old gelding couldn't do more than a walk for almost a year due to arthritis. I had his hocks and stifles injected, round of adequan, gLC5500, smartpak brand joint supplements and so many more things and he was still lame. He was literally hobbling along on 3 legs due to arthritis and I was devasted that I couldn't do anything other than give him daily pain meds to keep him comfortable. 3 weeks on Cur-OST prodcuts and whole oats and he was running around bucking and playing. He also lost some much needed weight and looks great as well.
My COPD/allergy mare took some more time, probably about a month and a half till I really started seeing huge differences in her. Her attitude changed within the first few weeks. She was more friendly and wanted to work. After a few more weeks I noticed improvements in her breathing during excercise. I got discouraged a few times throughout the first few months, I will admit that. I went running to a few friends who use the prodcuts, bummed because the products didn't seem to be working for my horse as it did for theirs but in reality I was missing the bigger picture. Which is what Dr. Schell is trying to always get us to look at. I was focusing on yes my horse was still having some mucus drainage here and there after exercise but I kept forgetting that these products had given me a whole new horse in every other aspect other than the mucus. She has doubled in her muscle tone(yes she was worked the same before using these products as she is now), she is more friendly, doesn't try to attack you for rubbing her belly anymore, wants to work.. I say now she is "wild"(it is a good thing lol)! She wants to work work work. Before these products I had a lazy, dull horse who even being worked 4-5 days a week the same as she is now was winded after a few laps. Now she can go for miles and miles and recovers quickly. Yes after exercise she has some mucus that comes out of her nose sometimes or a cough now and then but it doesn't effect her like it used to. These products help their bodies respond differently to these "stressors". I can't take away all the dust or pollen in the world but I can keep my horse on these products that help her body manage those "stressors" the best it can. I'm hoping once things stop blooming and the weather levels out the mucus might be gone completly but my horse lived with COPD for 4 years(untreated) before I bought her and another 2 years of me trying to "manage it", so there is bound to be quite a bit of damage to her lungs because of that. No product can take away all that damage but I sure can do my best to prevent more damage by keeping the inflammation out and keep her lungs as healthy as I possibly can and these products help me accomplish that.

I'm so excited to hear about all the experiences!
As I was reading through the information on the website yesterday I kept thinking "why hasn't anyone approached it this way before?"
I have tried everything and couldnt figure out why none of the 'respiratory' treatments were working. Dr. Schell approaches all issues differently -- what is CAUSING in the respiratory issue? Ulcers and anxiety CAN. I am so hopeful and excited. She's already a happy, loving, top 1D horse... be neat to see where we go once she's completely fixed up! |

Location: NE Texas | Finding Dr. Schell and the Cur-OST products has been such a blessing, both for me and my horses. After struggling with severe respiratory issues that began with very mild allergies and thousands spent on medications, treatments with 3 vets in 2 different states, we were out of options and was about to have to make a very tough decision for my horse, as he couldn't take a deep enough breath to cough. His gums were blue and he was very distressed even on 8cc of Ventipulmin plus Dexamethasone daily. We tried everything from steroid shots, nebulizer treatments, multiple rounds of antibiotics, scopes, etc. I'd spent close to $5000 in 3 months with no improvement. I began researching herbs and found the Cur-OST products and Dr. Schell. After a couple of weeks of consulting with Dr. Schell, he asked me to give him 2 weeks. As a last resort, I did just that. Prior to beginning the Cur-OST products, this horse was on the 8cc of Ventipulmin daily with the Dex, plus Ranitidine, as he was obviously ulcery and still not doing well. I pulled him off all medications and began the Cur-OST when I received it.
I used the EQ Total Support, the EQ Immune & Repair, and the EQ Adapt & Calm as per Dr. Schell's suggestions. Initially my horse began coughing almost incessantly, which scared me. I contacted Dr. Schell and he said this is a good thing, we need to encourage the cough, as it's the only way to expel the trash/mucous/phlegm out of the lung. In 2 weeks on these products, I was able to begin lightly working my horse in the roundpen. I started at 2 minutes each direction and monitored when and how he coughed. By the end of the third week, he was down to 1 cough per session and I increased his workout to 5 minutes both directions with no coughing by the end of week 4. Do not be surprised if in the first couple of weeks the coughing increases.....this is a good thing.
The pictures below show the difference in my horse in 30 days on the products and off ALL medications and other supplements. Half a scoop of whole oats once daily with his Cur-OST blend, a cup of black oil sunflower seeds, and alfalfa hay twice daily. To say these products saved this horse's life is not an exaggeration at all!
On a side note, after I saw what these products had done for my horse, I decided to try them on myself and a coworker of mine decided to try them as well, as her health issues were very severe. I have dealth with horrible allergies my entire live and have to take a Claritin D every single day and get 2 allergy shots a year. My coworker suffers from fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis and was taking up to 4 Tramadol a day just to be able to function and come to work. After two weeks on the products, she came into my office and did a cartwheel out front....and was off all pain medicine. She has since lost almost 40 pounds now that she's off the medications and able to be active....not to mention her gut is finally functioning as it should. I haven't taken an allergy pill or gotten a steroid shot since June of last year.
I'm so thankful for all Dr. Schell has shared with myself and others and for the education aspect of their company. I have learned so much through the forum at www.secondvet.com and using these products and reading the articles on the Nouvelle website has truly changed the way I prevent and manage the issues we deal with in ours and our horses' health!
