I know alot of you guys are probably tired of saddle fit posts but I'm going insane . My new mare has a short back and a long wither. I have a saddle that seems to fit her as far as bar angle goes but it sits low in the front and sticks up in the back. It doesn't touch her wither but it's closer than I would like. I'm assuming too wide? But the gullet is 6 1/4 and is a little on the tight side. I have a 1 inch wool pad and thought about getting a 3/4 or 1/2 inch but I can't find one in a 28x28.
The other issue I'm having is that she came to me underweight. She's putting weight on but I don't want to order another saddle yet because I know how round she will get when she's back to normal.

If it's sitting low in front and popping up in back...I would stick with the 1" pad and use a shim to balance the saddle. You don't even have to buy a shim you can use a piece of fleece or fold up a towel. You just want to make sure it's shimmed up enough in front so it doesn't restrict shoulder movement.

Sounds like your gullet is too narrow but your bar angle is too wide (making it sit downhill and pop up in back).
Sometimes this can be corrected with shimming; sometimes not (if you are going to create pressure points around the gullet).

I tried posting a picture but it keeps saying its too big so I'm still working on it
The saddle I have has QH bars so should I try a SQH? I have another saddle that has a 7inch gullet which seemed to fit her a little better in the shoulder and sat flat on her back with a 1inch pad.
