I've been horseless since my oldest daughter stole mine about 3 years ago.  They are the two in my avatar photo.  We've had horses in for training or friends letting my swing a leg over theirs so I haven't been without something to ride, just not something to call MINE.

Well here she is!

This is Rita, registered name, Remedy By Choice.  http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/remedy+by+choice
I've got a little history with her family.  We've own a couple of her paternal 1/2 siblings and have trained/ridden even more since our good friends own the stud.  Her dam was the first I ever showed in cutting.  I hadn't a clue what I was doing but she took care of me and we won!  I barrel raced her dam's full brother, won my first race on him!
I brought her home two weeks ago, she was a unhandled.  My husband put the halter on her in the trailer and got her to her pen.  The next 24 hours I made random trip to her pen just to handle her.  This is how worked up she was about her 1st saddling, 24 hours after being halter broke.

Pretty sure this girls was born broke!  I'm not a fan of starting colt but my husband was joking about who ever got on her first, that's whos she'd be, so I made sure to get on her first!  We just do short 10-15 minute rides, if that sometimes.  In a week I was just able to hop on, no lunging needed, and ride around the pen with my kids, I had her walk/trot/loping, a great stop that got me unloaded, (MY fault not hers, that's a whole other story  lol) Even took her on a short trail ride then a couple days later went with a group. She crossed a bridge and creek like a pro.  She walks up to be caught, she steps right into our two horse straight with a ramp and I've got all four feet trimmed.  She's been too easy!
Plans are for her to replace my all around gelding my daughter stole.  We have many years ahead of us so I'm in no hurry. Just enjoying having a horse to call my own again!
