It seems like pastes are all the rage right now. Brittany Pozzi has them, Fallon, OE, Oxy-GEN....       Do these really work, or just the current fad. Are there clinical trials to back them up? Which are your favorites? Have you used any that didnt render results?

I've wondered the same. I've looked into a few brands over the years because I have a horse with COPD and she is now maintained well at home but when we get into a barn or arena that doesn't have the best air quality I can tell it effects her. I have wanted to find something to give her relief in a short amount of time and help open her airways. I haven't been convinced of any of them yet because Oxy-GEN seems like the best brand but $120 for 4 or 5 doses of the oxyO2 is crazy and can really add up.

The OE pastes seem to have a lot of fillers in them compared to the others. Nothing in their "wind" paste really seems like anything that'll open the airways. I didn't really look at any of the other pastes they have.

I do think an electrolyte paste can do a horse some good if you have one that doesn't like to drink on the road but past that I haven't been able to convince myself they are worth the money.

I have used the Oxy 02 paste on my COPD when it was pretty humid and he caught his air after the run like he would if I used Ventipulmin. I think it works, but the price is a lot per run for a local jackpot. I tried Wind Aid and Air Power (although not a paste) but didn't have good results.

Did you try the "Rush" paste from Oxy-GEN at all? That is the other one I looked at that has some good stuff in it that should help the airways.

No I didn't because the Wind Aid has eucalyptus and didn't help. I just didn't want to waste my $. It might better or more concentrated than other brands, but I'm not sure.

ETA: I saw Oxy-Gen is doing a buy 2 get one free promo on Equine 7 line. If you had the extra dough to buy 2 you at least get a little more bang for your buck.... I'm not an Oxy dealer and have tried other Oxy products that didn't work for me... so I'm really not trying to push it. Just saying if you were wanting to try the O2.

Oxy-Gen O2 is AMAZING!!! It is literally the ONLY thing that has done ANYTHING for my iAd mare. If I could afford to keep her on the 10cc/day all the time, I wouldnt have looked into Cur-Ost. If she's having a hard time, I just start her on it and within 2-3 days she's as good as new. Unfortunately, the price is just not on my side... especially being in Canada :(

I also use Pozzi Relax on my younger mare -- works like a dream. Huge change between warming her up with and without it.

I've tried Oxy-O2, I don't know if I noticed anything or not? I actually had 1 dosage left and used it a couple weeks ago at a 3 day run, I couldn't tell a difference from the other 2 days that I didn't use it. And like others said, it's expensive to chance it. I'll grab air power or wind aid if I think the air where I am running is 'heavy' and gross for my mare.

I do like Flair strips but use them here and there because it is hard to see them lay on the ground after your horse rubs them off

I havent tried any of them. However, the only one that caught my attn was the pozzi mare power? I think is what its called. You could give it to a mare in heat and help her a lot. I ride a lot of mares so I thought about that one.

I use Pozzi Relax on my mare at every barrel race. Somedays it works great and I can really tell a difference. Other days she is still pretty hyped. But for the most part I have see good results. I think I'm going to find a daily supplement for her. It's just annoying trying to time it correctly.

Oxygen makes a daily pellet for the relax. A friends horses went from nuthouse to basically stoned on the paste, I'm not sure if ever experimented with the doseage but she started him on the daily pellet and that's been working really well for him.

I have used Oxygen Jailbreak in the past when I suspected ulcers and it made a big difference.

Recently I have used Pozzi Relax paste and I find it does help a little.
