My bay 11 year old won a fairly good sized barrel race second weekend in March. Ran tough, didn't feel any slips or anything. Ground was great and he ran and cooled out fine! Stayed tied to trailer for an hour or so, picked up my check and loaded for 2 hour ride home. Got home and he is pretty lame on left shoulder. Vet thinks he just pulled muscle or soft tissue and it took that long for adrenalin to wear off And for him to get stiff. She told me to keep exercising him so all i do is pony him or ride him at a walk for 20 minutes or so. He usually walks out of the soreness in about 10 minutes or so and is sound by the time we are done. I guess this is to keep scar tissue away. This is taking forever to heal!! Lol vet said it can take a year???? Anything I can do to help shoulder injury heal better??

I would try Equine Regen. I know it's expensive but it works. Great for speeding up healing, scar tissue, inflamation and pain. You might also.try something like Lubrysin.

 How does regen work?

I am looking for a systemic stem cell activator.

Dmso or dmso/dex mix

Thanks so much! I will ask my vet to maybe mix some up. I do feed an herbal anti inflammatory 2x daily and before I ride I use Lame away. Just wondered if there was something more I could do to keep it from getting so stiff during the day. Thanks!
