hadn't been up north for a couple weeks and then heard that it went from no babies to a herd of babies....all 4 foaled within a week and the coyotes didn't get any!!!! went up over the weekend so Sheri could get some pics and see what we ended up with.....

Lovely babies. So glad they are all healthy. Is it normal for coyotes to get them in that pasture? You think you might could move them to somewhere more safe during foaling time....just a thought. Sure is sad to think that any of these beauties could have been coyote food.

this year a friend of mines baby got attacked by coyotes, while the mare was having him. She was up at the barn in lights and they still got a hold of the baby. SO… it happens! I don't think anyone has the authority to pass judgment on how someone else decides to handle their business….

The last time I checked, coyotes were a threat to household pets in the back yards of Los Angeles California... So.....It's pretty difficult to find a place they don't roam...

no shortage of coyotes here....no, it would be pretty unusual for a coyote to get one of those babies from those wild mares....but it can happen......was just kind of an off the cuff remark.....sorry

Awesome babies!!! That bay mare has about the softest eyes I've ever seen on a horse and her baby is built like a tank!!
