Location: Ellensburg, Washington | We got my son (4) a really nice pony for him to start doing leadline on and be able to lead, brush, etc. I am looking for the best helmet for him. I'm not looking at bike helmets because they are made for biking not horses. I know he would prefer a cowboy hat style but I can't seem to find them anywhere. Thanks |

Location: California | I just bought my 4 1/2 year old granddaughter an Ovation size xsmall. She loves it! Even forgets to take it off when she is finished riding. She had a Troxel Spirit that was always a battle to get her to wear. Highly recommend Ovation. |

Location: Somewhere around here | Guess what you could do is buy a good helmet that fits him then buy a cheaper cowboy hat that would fit over the helmet and glue it on? I don't really know if it's safe or not but just a random idea that might work. |

Location: Memphis, TN | My almost 4 year old wears a Tipperary Sportage. Just measure his head and check their sizing chart. They have pretty small sizes. |

| Just bought my 4 year old granddaughter the new Resistaol Safe Ride (cowboy style helmet) from NRS. Spent $249, which was a lot of money, but sure does fit her great!!!! It does not move on her head and she said it is very comfortable. You can also order from Resistol but it will cost $269. |

This is what I bought my boys. One reason is because it was one of the few that went small enough. |

Our daughter wears the Tipperary sportage also and we got it for her when she was 2. She kind of has a big head but it comes with lots of extra padding that you can add to tighten it up a bit. She loves it and never, ever complains about it being too hot or uncomfortable.
She's had 2 falls, one where her old guy came over on her as if he was having a heart attack but he survived whatever it was (very bizarre). And that helmet didn't move at all when she hit the ground. And she WILL NOT get on without a helmet now, her dad used to forget every once in a while and just throw her on and go but she will not let you forget now. |

I got my son an Ovation Deluxe Schooling helmet. (The smallest size fits head sizes 48cm-52cm) He is 17 months and it works fine for him. But he also kind of has a big head. He loves it and when he puts it on this means he wants to ride the horses. :-) |

Thank you for your suggestions! DD is 19 mos, and is more interested in being at the barn doing chores than riding. But, I know it's coming soon, knowing her, lol! |
