Location: "...way down south in the Everglades..." | Need some more rate for bigger pens. She works fine in this bit in small pens but I'm not getting as quick of a reaction as I'd like in bigger pens. She is still in the seasoning phase and does need more time and work so I'm aware there's still some homework to be done, but curious what you guys would consider a step up bit from this one?
She's in the simplicity twisted wire with dogbone. |

| I liked transitioning mine to a Kathy James. I have a L&W and a Elliott, both are heavier than the simplicity and I feel that helped a bunch.

Location: "...way down south in the Everglades..." | Thanks Wrap...actually that looks like a fairly easy transition up. I'll have to look into them for sure as I hadn't seen one quite like it. Is it a longer shank than the Simplicity? |

Location: wolverton,mn | I have my young horse in a smooth mouth simplicity. I have two Kathy James on their way here. I ordered the shorted shank ones he makes,his wife said he like them on some horses. I have him in the simplicity and Hollis,I know there is something out there with more feel,I'm thinking this will be the one! |

Location: Williamsville, MO | I was seasoning my colt in the Carol Goosetree simplicity and stepped up to the Carol Goosetree Delight bit. I bought a Kathy James and it was entirely too much bit for him, so i went with the CG delight. |

I agree with this, I tried the Goosetree Simplicity also and have been really happy with what the above pictured from Dave Elliott .
Another trick is try tying up the throat latch, it helped my mare a ton.

| Love the simplicity bits. I tend to work my 5 year olds in the simplicity and run them in an Ed Wright short shank gag in the same mouthpiece. If I need more brakes, I use a medium shank Ed Wright bit. |

I was definitely looking at his as I'm wanting to try something this weekend and they do have this one in stock at the local tack shop.
I tried her last night in an old combo bit I had in the tack room. Looks similar to the Martha Josey Combo bit but a tad different. She definitely is not a fan of the nose pressure but I still think the bit itself was more what I needed (looks similar to the Ed Wright one).
But knowing me I'll probably order a handful of other selections (KJ and ??) and get them shipped when my husband is out of town the following week. He doesn't understand my tack obsessions.  |

Location: MN | Dont they sell simplicity bits with noseband as well? I could totally be making that up. In big outdoor pens, I generally like use the same bit but with a rope nose band. Grabs my horses attention a little more. |

The mare I took out of a Simplicity and into a KJ did not like the Double Gag. She would elevate and not finish her barrels. |
