| Last night in between rain showers, about 900 students graduated from Marshall High School. Forty seven of those students graduated because of my Fast Track (early graduation) program. This was set up for students who never bothered to come to school, those who came to school and never did their work, and discipline problems that kept getting kicked out of class. I had a few that had babies and often had no one to keep them. I think the main reason these kids finished is because they knew that I care for them. None of them will see this but, good job guys. |

| We need more teachers like you, impacting these kids lives for the better. My daughters MIL is a middle school principal in Fort Bend ISD. Her niche is to straighten out troubled schools. She gets rid of bad staff, then starts working on the kids who can be the worst of the worst. Her current school has gone from 130 fights in a year to 26. I asked how she does it and she said she tries to give them tools to handle issues other than fighting. Instead of immediately suspending, etc she brings all involved, patents too, to a " round table" to discuss. She said she has kids come up to her and say " I need a round table now!"- same kids who previously had multiple infractions. Grades have gone up as these kids now feel valued. She doesn't reach all of them but the ones she does are learning life skills that will change their life. |

| Perhaps you should look it up. Actually my students are smart and yes if they fit in the category yes I would tell them that because most of them actually know the meaning. |

LOL......That is kind of what I came up with....guess we KNOW the meaning........ noun - an ignorant, foolish, or silly person.
And I am afraid it's pretty sad that you, as a teacher, would think it is OK to call ANYONE (student or not) a "simpleton" or ANY derogatory name.....but GOOD JOB with your students ! . |

| You need to go spend an entire day in a classroom of at risk students. One of my students graduated in February and was arrested three weeks later for murder. One got out of jail for auto theft and was put in my program. Just getting them to come to school is a challenge much less doing any work. Actually, I have called them things a lot worse. Like I said, go sit in on a program like mine. There is not a line of teachers waiting to take my place. |

And, unfortunately, when you use a derogatory term, you can't just pick and choose which definition that you would like to present......as a teacher....you should KNOW that.........

| Find a school, ask to go sit in an at risk class. You deal with these kids a little differently.
I taught an AP Physics class a few years ago and no, you do not talk to these kinds like that. I started out this year like that but these kids operate differently. I did get 47 out of there so something must be working AND almost everyone of them came and told me thanks as they left, even the worst kid I had. He liked to remind me every week that I had the worse kids in the building. I am so sorry that you feel that way but do not judge me until you have been in my situation. The people who actually matter understand the accomplishment and how we got there.

I gave you "kudos" for the work that you have done. I am sure that it is not easy....
However, that being said....I AM NOT one of your incorrigible students (nor are others here on BHW) and you have no conscience in using derogatory names towards me or anyone else........by the way....why, may I ask, do you have TWO "log-ins" ? |

| I guess this is another detail where everyone is pm'ing others telling them who they think I am. Last time I was barrelhorseusa. Yep, someone let the cat out of the bag that time. Just for curiosity is it against the rules to have more than one? I think I am up to 4. Keep forgetting my password and have to open a new account. The other ones were from long, long ago. |
