With all the rain we have had in Texas, the mosquitoes are atrocious! Throwing this out there to find the mosquito spray that you'all have had the best luck with. Nothing seems to work.

I just use OFF or any of the human products. I figure if they are safe for me they are safe for them. Never had a horse react and they get quite a few hours of protection from a quick spray down.

deep woods off is the only thing that works for more than a few minutes down here in South Texas. But I only use it when they are really bad which so far has been for 3 or 4 nights at a time. I don't like using it because of the deet, but when the 2 mares who hate to be sprayed, come up to me in the pasture and I can spray them with no halters and only a cookie for afterward, I figure they really need the relief.

Mosquito Halt. Amazing. Read the reviews on the internet. Even slower down those big black horse flies
Sold! I'm going to get some today. I swear I spent more time fighting horse flies than riding yesterday. I have little enough time to ride as it is. I will try anything to kill those suckers!

Here is a cheap trick if you are just out riding. Get some small leafy branches a stick in your headstall and breast collar. Works best on deer flies but screws up the others too. May not work so well for drills por practice. Crazy idea works.
