I am going to Vegas at the end of the month and looking into renting a cabana for a day. MGM and Monte Carlo appeal to me because of the lazy rivers... We are also staying at MGM. Has anyone rented one? If so where, and was it worth it?

MGM all the way. Cabanas there are excellent! Service and refreshments are great. Their menu is top notch.
Price is going to depend on where the cabana is located. Best ones are #13 & #14 right on the lazy river.
They run $1500 food/beverage minimum on weekends, $800 for other days.
Lower numbers by the smaller pools will be a little cheaper, but not much on summer weekends.
Price is worth it to us because it keeps us out of the casino for the whole day.

Monte Carlo is going to be cheaper, but the pool is smaller and not near the service of MGM.

I've stayed at monte carlo and love it, but are you sure they have a lazy river? I did not see one or any signs for one last December?

Yes they do, its a pretty small complex over by the tram to Aria, easy to miss if you dont see it from above.

Thanks for the info! Is there a rental fee on top of the food and drink minimum?

No, the food/bev minimum is your rental fee :)
