Hey everyone,
There is a local thereapeutic riding center in my area that is doing a wonderful job and filling a huge need for local kids. But she is surviving on local donations from our small area. She is wanting to find a grant or something because she is wanting to expand some. The local public school is wanting to bring trouble kids out(no physical disabilitiy) but they have no money and she doesn't either. I volunteered to help find grants and help write them because, well I kind of have time, more than her and I believe in what she is doing so I want to help!!
But I'm running into dead ends. Anybody good at this? Point me in a direction? She's going on 3 years of this place running so its not a new whim. She just wants to do more!! Here is her website, she is a wonderful lady! Help me help her! I know there is some smart cookies on here!!

Find a grant writer. A good place to start is the school. They have grant writers and can make suggestions for someone who might do this out of the school system. Grant applications are very involved and if you apply for one you may as well apply for several at one time. You never know, you might get more than one.

No idea about grants but I board at a facility that does able bodied and therapeutic lessons. I know the income from the self boarders pays the rent plus we have a handful of full boarders too. They have monthly schooling shows and of course the lessons all help bring in income to pay the bills.

Check with USDA Rural Development, they have several different programs and I know they have awarded some grants to Theraputic riding centers. It must be a not for profit organization
