It's been awhile since I've used a liniment....what's everyone's favorite?  I used Sore No More awhile back but was thinking about Lame Away....what else is good?

I love my sore no more gelotion. I would really like a good spray liniment though, I believe someone on here has a good diy recipe for it aswell.

I have two favorites.   Depends on what I want to use them for on which I use.   I do like Sore No More and use it whenever I want to wrap legs and stand one up.   For after a strenous excercise and I want to refresh and revive sore aching muscles,  Tuttles Elixir really stimulates.   You must dilute the Tuttles or 2 days in a row without diluting will scurf and blister one.  I love that a horse can be dog tired after a workout and when I go to sponging the Tuttles on they will be on their tip toes and feeling good again before I am done.

Those that use Sore No More. Have you ever used it on your self? I've used it on my self a few times and never really notice a difference. I know its not like other liniments that have a cooling effect.

There's an old recipe for a mix. Green jelly, rubbing alcohol, liniment gel, epsom salt.

Anyone have any experience with a liniment called "Draw It Out"?

What the most effective way to use liniment? Wrapping after applying, soaking wraps in liniment then applying, or applying without wrapping? And how long should they be on if wrapped?

I have and didn't notice a difference, which makes me hesitant to buy it again.  I currently have the SNM spray liniment and I feel like it works better than the gelotion.  BUT I know that it's the only liniment (that I know of) that doesn't produce heat.  So that might be what we're "not" feeling.

I've been using the spray before and after work outs all over their body. So maybe I am doing the right thing.

I use everything that's for my horses on myself! My test on if it works if you will. I don't really notice a difference when I use my Sore No More gel on myself, the only time I really notice a difference is when I put it under my BOT wraps. I also have the Absorbine Botanicals Body Rinse, and I keep a pretty concentrated spray bottle of it, not quite straight, but more than they say to use. I don't notice much effect on myself when I use it the instructed dilution, but when I use it straight I notice a huge difference. I dilute it down a bit and then keep it in the spray bottle. Excellent for target areas, massages, and it lasts forever in a sprayer! The horses seem to like the way it feels as well, I just spray it on to the points and rub in. Bigeloil I notice sometimes works really well, but with that I notice almost a burning sensation on my hands, so I prefer to stay away from it because I don't like the way it affects me. I just get a really bad reaction on my skin to it, and have had some horses agitated by it. The regular Absorbine Vet Liniment kind of gives me the same burn, but not as bad, so I don't mind keep a small bottle of that for when I really need to get to ones legs or something.

It's not a liniment, but I really like IceTight, I notice my hands get cold and slightly tingly (in a good way) if I don't wear gloves when applying it. However when wrapping it, and not allowing the clay to dry, I don't notice the cool effect. So if you're looking for a cooling effect, I like that one.

I like the wintergreen alcohol and witch hazel mix or the Isoblue you can find in the health section at Walmart or I usually can get the wintergreen at a dollar store. I put it in a spray bottle and it's cheap enough to use a lot and they seem to like it. I also like the Deep Freeze gel.

I love the E3 liniment for sore muscles. I think the company is also called Elite Equine Evolution. After running, I like to use Cool Pack Green Jelly on the legs.

Absorbine was my best friend when racing my mare a lot. She would swell up on her back, sides, legs, and hips after even a single run. We would use the liquid liniment in a bucket of water and sponged all over her back and hips, then the gel liniment on her legs and sides. Took all the inflammation out and just kept her overall feeling so much better.

I use a gallon milk jug - empty the tuttle bottles fill with water.  will also let sit out in sun - pat on back down withers, up on hips
always pat on or spray and never rub - you will blister them.  and never wrap
