I am the last person to see the video of Martha carrying the flag at some type of ceremony and then running barrels bridleless at the end? It popped up on my facebook so I went to youtube for the complete video. The woman is amazing.
She is also one tough gal. I have known her since 1964. I went in the store about a month ago to buy a cinch and Martha asked me to stay for supper (SHE DOES NOT COOK). They were having some business people out for a buffet. She told me how old she is which is about what I thought but can't believe she actually told me. It is kind of top secret!!! I have enjoyed competing against her over the years. I think my favorite memory is when we used to have these little barrel races not far from their place. When Martha had loaded up and was leaving she would stick her head out the window and say "Tell JoAnn I had a good time." Like she had never been anywhere.
The little girl on the black horse is a friend's granddaughter. She is all grown up now and is in this month's BARREL HORSE NEWS advertising the new Resistol western helmet.

Martha is such a horsewoman. I got the pleasure to meet her at one of her week long clinics and she's just such a great woman. I've always loved that video.
