| I know I have to get international papers for the horses, and I imagine some type of health papers on my two dogs. I am wondering what other issues I might need to be aware of? Will my US Verizon cell service work over there? Will my health insurance cover me over there? If I earn any $$ do I claim it? I know I could call the 1-800 numbers for this info, but I was wondering if anyone here would have any inisight? TIV! |

Location: South Dakota | If you plan on doing some work for money, you may need a work visa or permit...I know of a barrel horse trainer that came up to Canada to do a clinic and had a miserable experience with customs, because they said he needed proper documentation to do a wknd clinic.
It is simpler if you declare that you are visiting friends/family, as far as health insurance, you should check with your provider.
Dogs need rabies shots, up to date.
Your cell phone will work, but roaming charges will add up quickly, so you may want to look into getting a plan or package that will save you $.
Enjoy Calgary, it is a great city, and be sure to go visit Banff, and Lake Louise, gorgeous country. |
