On our way up to Montrose, Co to visit my daughter, we are going to overnight in Santa Fe. I love silver and turquoise so I was hoping some of you could give me an idea of where we could look, also any good places to eat and any other sites we could do that day.
Thanks

The Indians will line up as vendors along the Palace of the Governors near the Plaza in Santa Fe, and I believe they have to be 'certified'  (I THINK) in order to sell there.   It's amazing.  I have done a lot of shopping there and have always been happy.  There have been vendors in the park near there as well where I've purchased some goodies.  Love, love, love Santa Fe.

Any kind, really. We are from South Texas, so we are used to Tex Mex. I would like to eat somewhere unique to New Mexico. Not really interested in big chain restaurants.

I love Santa Fe! You just go down to the square and you will find all the shopping and eating you will need. I really like the La Plazuela restaurant in the La Fonda Hotel (my favorite hotel as well). Across the street you have to go to the Loretto Chapel and look at the staircase. I was married there!

Cafe Pasqual's, Harry's Roadhouse, Tecolote Cafe (was on Drive In's Diners and Dives for their green chile), La Plazuela, Rio Chama Steakhouse, Geronimo, Tomasita's, Cowgirl BBQ. Those were just some of our favorite places to eat in Santa Fe.

I love to visit Santa Fe. Like Katy said...we use to go the Governor's Palace to buy Indian goods. I'm pretty sure that only happens on the weekends. ( I checked and they are there everyday. There is 69 spots for them.)

The time we went there was a huge Market on the square with tons of things to buy, pretty cool with all the Indian ladys selling their goods all dressed in their native clothing.
Edit to add' I think they only did the Markets on the weekend.

The Cowgirl is a must to eat at! BBQ, New Mexican food that won't burn your mouth and save.plenty of room for the baked potato for desert! There are some very expensive restaurants in Santa Fe but the Cowgirl runs middle of the road with great food. Enjoy
