My arena is due for new footing this summer. I have contacted my guy to come take a look to give me some prices. But I am not sure exactly what to tell him for type of footing?? Is there a grade or term for sand that is not too beachy. That will disk up nice and stay soft yet hold you up in our turns?  any help out there?

Well our main dirt is clay that is slick as snot when wet and hard as rock when dry. I had it done about 12 years ago. and just told him sand. It really didn't have enough hold unless there was a bit of moisture in it. Not bad just kind of fell away too much when it was dry. Was looking to give him better direction this time.........
