I've been looking at different saddle pads and have come across these sph performance gear pads (they're on facebook). They have the wither cutout and another one for closer leg contact. Has anyone tried them? I've heard only good things so far. Thanks!

I have one, I lIke it. Sadly my mare needs a build up pad, so I don't use it very often at this time. I did notice that my barrel saddles rings sit more back then reining or cutting saddles, so I have to sit my saddle more forward on the pad to clear the cut out.

A couple of my clients had purchased them over the winter. I have come to be a pretty big believer in them. I really like them on horses that are bigger in the shoulder/wither. I have found that they help to alleviate a lot of nagging little pressure in that area that other pads seem to cause, no matter how good a channel you pull into them. I'm also very excited about the newly available colors.

A friend of mine got one awhile back - their "wool" one. It is NOT 100% wool, to start with. I did not like it & she has since decided it was a waste of money & sold it and went back to her 5 Stars. She is the type that always has to try the "new" stuff, LOL Their other pads have neoprene in them - NO thanks!

I really want to try them but THIS is my fear... I'm a 5 star and best ever girl... I'm so used to using 100% wool that I'm scared I'll spend the money and it won't be true 100% wool. Love the concept....
