| Justin Insurance does a great job. They underwrite with Great American who paid my surgery claims ASAP and are super easy to work with. The claims adjusted actually called me to make sure I had submitted everything before issuing checks (this was an ongoing claim so they sent a few). I think there is a $500 deductible on Major Medical but maybe check with them. The best thing to do is call them. 18009720272. Good Luck! |

Location: Sunny So Cal | I really like Cinquini Insurance. My deductible is $500. I have filed a claim. I have mortality on all, some also have loss of use and they all have major medical. |

| At Justin (last time I checked) a $10,000 barrel horse under the age of 15 will be about $320 annually for mortality and that includes $3,500 towards emergency colic surgery. From there the medical endorsements are flat rates, $10,000 Major Medical is $475.
Once they turn 15 the rate will increase each year until they are 20

Location: Northern CA | Have to say I have had really good luck with Markel. I did have a major medical claim (long term). They were good to deal with. I have since dropped the major medical, but contiue with mortality. It looks like the rates are comparable to the ones mentioned above. |

Location: Iowa | Has anyone ever tried Wilkin's out of NE? I currently have Plains Horizon, never had to file anything with them so I am not sure how they are to work with. However I am looking to switch to one closer to home. |

Location: Alberta, Canada | I use Wilkins. I'm up in Canada and have found that Wilkins is the best even though it is south for me. I haven't had to file but have heard good things and they were very easy to deal with. They do not require vet certificates up to I believe $25,000 or maybe even $30,000 claimed value. I have three horses insured with them.

| Do you guys have to provide anything when you get a horse insured? I have insurance on 2 horses and I have never had to give them anything other than a filled out form and credit card number. It just seems a little easy to me. But, maybe that is how it is supposed to be? Iv only had them a year and thinking about switching to a more reputable(hope I spelled that correctly) company. |

I know at a certain price point you have to provide proof that your horse is worth the amount you are insuring it for. For my horse I needed to provide my show record. I'm sure for certain prices you need to provide earnings. |

| So I shouldn't be worried? One is insured for 5K and the other 15K. |

I wouldn't be worried, but that is just me. If you are still worried you can shop around at other companies that are larger and see what they ask you. Maybe you will end up finding a better price. |
