- Did the U.S. pay Iran $400 million on the day the prisoners were released in January?
- Was this a release of Iraninan frozen assets that stems from the 1979 Iran Hostage Crisis?
- If so, then why the timing of these ostensibly "unrelated" events? Is this just an attempt to stir up false accusations?
- Was this money sent via "unmarked" plane? If so, why?
- Was this transfer made with foreign currency? If so, why?

The WSJ is a pretty reliable source, but even they can get it wrong sometimes. I'll even take opinions, if backed up with reliable sources.

Answer yes to all your questions. And there is a video from Iran on youtube that shows the money arriving and claiming that it is ransom. True I don't know. One of the hostages stated that their plane was delayed until the another plane arrived. When the plane arrived they departed. |

| Yes, saw an interview on TV with a person who was on the plane. All parties were on the plane but take off was delayed for hours waiting in the money to arrive. |

| Obozo actually did a press conference updating us about ISIS and a reporter asked him about the incident. He basically mocked the question and said this is old news they told us about back in January and it's only a news story now bc the US paid in cash using foreign $. He said it was done this way bc the US doesn't have a financial relationship with Iran so they couldn't just wire the $. Allegedly, this administration was warned by advisors NOT to make the payment the same time prisoners were released bc of looks of impropriety. Does it really matter what the US intent was if the Iranians view it as a ransom payment? They've taken 3 more hostages since |

| Yes according to Obozo this was a settlement stemming from 1979 in which their assets were frozen. We are supposed to believe that it was miraculously settled after almost 40 years and HAD to be paid in foreign cash, loaded on pallets onto unmarked cargo plane in the middle of the night. Location: Bastrop, Texas | I think things like this that present "bad optics" are a recreational activity for Obama. For all I know, what transpired was completely legal and legitimate. It's his way of flipping us the bird. It's also a good distraction. We will probably see things like this for the next 3 months. It takes the attention off Hillary and her own lingering problems and sometimes lures Trump into a trap. So far, he's been stepping in it. The strategy seems to be working. If I were Hillary, I wouldn't hold a press conference either. |

Location: Do I hear Banjos? | If you really want to feel like throwing up in the grass...it wasn't actually $400Million we "owed" Iran...this payoff will include $1.3 billion in interest on that $400 Mil. It was money paid to the US for weapons/military hardware that we never gave them due to the break down of relations back in the 70's.
Will someone explain to me why we had to give them the money...now (January) after all these years...when it is known that Iran is the largest state sponsor of terrorism? And they hate us? Oh...wait..."What Difference Does it Make?"
Why in foreign currency...cash...on pallets in the dark of night...only to "coincidentally" result in the release of hostages? I get why no wire transfer...but to me if we can't wire the money through traditional channels because we have such a dysfunctional relationship with them still...then they shouldn't have sent the money at all. I would bet my own money that the untraceable cash is already in the hands of terrorists...or funding Iran's effort to build nuclear weapons that they will happily turn and use on US interests.
This administration makes me feel as though I'm living in an alternate universe where common sense doesn't exist. And I'll call that joke of a president and his liberal delusional sycophants any name I like. They have earned them all. |
