Just looking for some advice.. I have a really cool, worky hard turning gelding that is a perfect gentlemen but can get strong going to his second and third barrels, he isn't so much a "cheater" as he is a worker! He's one of those you really have to pick up his shoulder or he'll hit barrels, he's always one you have to go back and reiterate picking up his shoulder, counter arcs etc. and like I said does all that beautifully and willingly, just sometimes can get hard to pick up esp sense I only weight 110lbs.
Sooo.. I've been running him in a carol goostree simplicity bit which I love love love! Has been easy for me to pick him up and move him over but now, he's getting limber on the back side of the barrels and bending in half with me.
Any drills y'all would recommend or maybe a similar bit to the goostree but doesn't make one quite as bendy?

It sound like your problem is in the hips instead of shoulder. If he is too bendy, focus on getting his hips as mobile as his shoulders so he can follow himself around a turn. Inside leg, half passing, and getting your inside butt deep in the saddle so you can really drive him.

A Simplicity really helps a bendy one get bendier. I'd put him in a shank bit and ride him with more outside rein, and really focus on the hip rather than the shoulder.
