I was at a rodeo this weekend and they alley way runs straight out into the parking lot. I was running out the alley and there was a girl standing a little bit behind the alley way and she was on a horse (with her back facing the alley and taking). My horse ran into hers And apparantley her horse was hurt (I never saw) and they took my phone number after rodeo. Could I be held legally responsible? I know in Texas they have a law will that protect me? Thank yall for the advie:) God bless.

I wouldnt think so. Get some witnesses that can testify that she was standing too close to the alley. I have little remorse for anyone that can't figure out to stay out of the way of the alley.

I woldn't sweat it.
And if it went down like you said the only thing she would have gotten from me was my address so she could mail my boot back to me when she had it removed from her arse.

Should not be your fault but I'm sorry for the headache.
If it is a run out pen and there is not a person in charge of keeping the alley clear I try to station a friend or someone back there - a friend of mine once almost mowed down a group of small children at an indoor rodeo whose parents where no where to be found and decided the warmup pen we ran back out into was a great sandbox!
Even if you aren't liable it still creates a huge headache for all involved, I'm sorry someone else's careless behavior put you in this situation.

NO your not responsible for what happen, she should have been on the watch while sitting in the alley, not sitting with her back turned and talking you never let your guard down while sitting in the alley and she was standing to close. Never give your phone out to anyone thats in fault. If someone gets hit by another horse they were to close and not paying attention, so no fault of yours if all this went the way that your saying it did which I'm sure it did, I have seen this happen to many times.
