| Does anyone have an experience dealing with a ligament injury, have you had success getting them back to 100%. And depending on the severity, would that stop you from purchasing a horse that had one a few years back? Thanks in advance. |

| Depends on what exactly "a few years back" means. Is the horse hauling and running well currently?
I have seen some come back and others not. In my experience it's not a total deal breaker if they have had an injury in the past, it's the current state of the horse. All I have to say is vet check, vet check, vet check!! It's always better to know what you're getting yourself into maintenance and risk of further injury wise at the beginning instead of being heartbroken in a couple years. :) |

| I'm currently 5 months in to a suspensory injury and the vet expects a full recovery. A friend of mine had her cutting horse tear a hind suspensory...not just a little tear, but the entire ligament tore in two and there was a huge black hole on the ultrasound! Worst case the vet has ever seen. After two years of rehab and lots of swimming this horse is back in the cutting pen doing great! A lot of it depends on how well the horse was brought back after the injury. If it was thrown in a stall or pasture for 8 months it isn't going to be healed as well as one who followed a strict rehab schedule per vets orders. |

Location: Oklahoma | Yes they can come back but keep in mind it is weaker than before. No I would not buy one. Even tho I'm keeping mine that tore his and retore again. You have to watch what ground you work in and run in. |

Location: Piedmont, OK | Make sure you use a great lameness vet! It will depend on the type of injury, how bad it was, if multiple tears or one big tear, etc. And how they were rehabbed. |
