| Rope can, headstall, spurs/spur straps, belt, knife, etc...then you could get it customized with his name, initials or brand. |

Sadly, I have gotten him all of the above LOL. Great suggestions though! |

That's a great idea! I mean, it's not all warm and fuzzy, but it's practical! I am all about practical! |

| Is there something for his truck or trailer he would like?
Something in shortage at the barn, we always seem to be swapping bits and reins around, some extra working tack would be nice to have.
I feel like I'll be in the same boat someday - luckily mine is hard on power tools so I always have that to fall back on!

| I know you said he was a trainer, but maybe fees for a clinic of someone he admires in the roping world (everyone can always learn something)..
Roping dummy (Fastlane for play, Pipes for practice, or something similar)
A GOAT, to practice on... we got 2 and have way too much fun with them!
A nice colt! everyone always needs another horse!!

| Adding - custom conchos with the brand on them or a custom bit with the brand if he has a "go to" bit that someone can recreate. My FIL has both and they're really sharp. |

I would love to see the look on his face if I came walking up with a goat :). He would rope that sucker..no doubt. He heels our toddler with kid ropes in the house. Course he legs her on purpose so she doesnt fall. |

Location: Louisiana | For our one year I had a branding iron made. We had designed our brand and had it registered, but never followed through lol.
He was surprised, loved it, and it's something that's for "us" forever.
He's wanting to order a new saddle, and if I know him he'll skip on all the "pretty" options, so next year I may get a saddle set of conchos made for it. He has a friend who has a set with his brand and he thinks it's the coolest thing, but again, that's just "extras" so I doubt he orders them.
For Christmas this year I'm thinking of having a painting done of him roping. Josey Butler does gorgeous watercolors. She has a Facebook page, and also sells her own creations. But you have to catch them quick!
I had a custom gun sling made for Christmas several years ago with his initials.
Hmmmmm.....what else?
I've bought every pair of dress boots he owns lol.
I was thinking of getting him one of the large insulated tumblers (yeti, rtic, etc) with the screw top so he can tie it on his saddle when out penning cattle. |

| I have a friend who has custom made buckles and chonchos for her bridle. Buckle for each side and chonchos by the bit. Not real large and have her initials on them. Sharp looking. |

I love the branding iron idea! and the painting.
My husband makes shopping easy for me because he has a public wish list on Amazon, so I can go on there anytime and buy a few things off of it. I have gotten him some custom tack that he didn't ask for though and he loved that.
If he had one "special" horse at some point, I do custom portrait model horses and 90% of my orders are gifts. People love them. There's a link in my signature. Sketches and paintings are a good option too. My inlaws got two of our horses sketched in beautiful frames for us for Christmas. |

| For my dad who is a team roper (and buys everything he wants) we bought a really nice picture of him roping from the local photographer and had it blown up and framed. He really liked it and it was something he wouldn't have taken the time to do himself. |
