Is is possible to register a 4yo (out of registered parents of course), and if so, what would it take? Money and paperwork wise?

I've only ever transferred papers so

I think it used to be some ungodly amount $1500 or something. But several times a year they offer discounted late registrations. I want to think the cost is $300-$500.

Both sire and dam need to have DNA on file, if they don't you can't.

You will need a stallion report if one wasn't filed, a registration application form with the stallion owner and mares owner signature, a signed transfer.

You will have to parentage verify

Plus a registration fee

I knew it would be a ridiculous process/expensive.

Why can't people just do it when the horses are born!?!?

Such an inconvenience, even not having the paper trail of past owners irritates me.
