Location: Aubrey, Texas | Several generations back you've got some quick speed: Bert & Leo, Leo San. Otoe was by Sugar Bars & out of a full sister to Flit, which makes him bred just like Flit Bar, Firewater Flit's sire. (Flit Bar was never beaten out of the gate during his race career but he was hurt in his back & would not finish well. Still, he threw quick speed.) Plus, Otoe was a whale of an athlete! Hula San was one of G.B. Howell's (think Truckle Feature) favorite broodmares. You've also got Peppy Belle, who was the dam of Peppy San and Mr. San Peppy- both great cutting horses. Plus, you've also got some good old-timey ranch horses- Waggoner Ranch, Triangle Ranch, Bert, etc. You DO have Peppy San Badger, who was known to throw some buck. It's a ways back but I've personally seen "buck" travel down 6 generations. There are several other good horses back there, like King and Hollywood Gold; these are just the ones that I know personally & can remember.
You may not end up with a rocket but the horse should be pretty quick-footed & easy to train on barrels-
